and the countdown beings. once again.

College...College...Sleep...College. It's safe to say that College has been on my mind for the past few weeks. 10 beautiful days until I head off to Stillwater, Oklahoma to start a new chapter in my life. I've never been more ready to embark on this journey as I am right now. Don't get me wrong, my hometown is great, with all the memories, family members, and friends, but it's time I make a name for myself somewhere else. Living on my own is just one of the perks of going to college. I get the opportunity to take classes offered to suit my major of choice, which is FASHION, as well. I may not know much about what the future holds, but I know that I will take every chance I get to embrace the opportunities that surround me. As Ashton Kutcher once said, "I don't believe that old cliche' that good things come to those who wait. I think good things come to those who want something so bad they can't sit still." So here I am choosing not to wait, but to accept what life has in store for me this upcoming year at school. Striving to make a difference and looking good while doing it.

Till next time,
Taylor Marie.

Kissed by the sun

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies
proclaim the work of his hands. Psalms 19:1

This past week I had the opportunity to experience the beautiful Pensacola Beach in Florida. It was a great experience with some of my closest friends; we had the chance to make many great memories that will never be forgotten. Let me take you through our journey starting from the beginning.

  • Monday July 12th- Approximately 3 am we pull out of First Baptist's parking lot. Keep in mind that none of us had slept the night before, we wanted to save that for the ride ahead of us, however you'll soon find out that we had no such luck. 12 passengers+Luggage+Snacks and necessary items for the beach house all fitting in 1, yes I said ONE, 12 passenger van. Let me just tell you we learned to be cozy with each other real quick. The 15 hour trip had finally begun. Needless to say sleeping was on all of our minds, but only a few could get comfy enough to drift away. A few hours into the ride I decided to sleep in between the seats on the floor, this would come to be one of the best discoveries of the trip, because I could finally get some shut eye. After a few stops to get gas and eat lunch we finally made it to Pensacola. The palm tree's and white sand were the first things that caught my eye. We arrived at our cute little beach house that we would call home for the week, and then decided to get our bathing suits on and head on down to the beach.
  • Tuesday July 13th- Slept in, lay out on the beach. Can anything be better than this? At this point in my story, you should know that I am kind of terrified of the beach water, which lies just a few feet ahead of me. Yes of course I'll get my feet wet, but under no condition was I going underwater or deep enough to experience the sea creatures to their finest. I started the book L.A. Candy, by Lauren Conrad, there's something about reading on the beach, I've always wanted to be able to say I've done it, and now I finally can. After staying out in the sun for a couple of hours we came back to the house to rest up for the night ahead of us. There was a concert on the beach planned, and we had plans to go. It ended up being a great time, it was packed so we got to see all types of people, some even dancing along to the music. We hit up Marble Slab after that for some delicious Ice Cream, my personal favorite. There was one more thing we had to do before the night was complete. CRAB hunting on the beach. Who know people actually participated in this activity, I sure didn't. I have to say it was one of the most terrifying events thus far in my life. Barefoot with nothing but a flashlight we set out in search of these little critters.
  • Wednesday July 14th- ALOE ALOE ALOE. Sunburns have finally arrived for the party of 12. This morning we were early risers, leaving our house at 7:30am to travel to Casino Beach to watch the Blue Angels (Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron) perform. After their show, we took a few pictures then headed off to the local gift shops. Where I purchased a tank top, a flower for my hair and a scoop of birthday cake ice cream, big spender I know. After shopping we came back to the house for yet another nap. The girls decided to lay out on the deck after resting, while the guys went exploring down the beach. (We later found out that they found a Hotel Resort a few miles down the beach in which they found many different pools to keep them occupied) Later that night we decided to play some Beach Volleyball and Wiffle Ball.
  • Thursday July 15th- Woke up once again at 7:30 to go fishing on the pier. I got to see a school of stingrays, lots of little fish, and one extremely large shark. Let's just say by 11 o'clock there were not many happy campers. The heat was exhausting so 3 of us decided to sleep on the pier while waiting for the others to finish fishing, while the remaining few headed down to the beach to swim for a little bit. That night we went to Hibachi Sushi for dinner, which was one of the restaurants where your food is cooked in front of you. The picture below is one of me and my beautiful roomie (:
  • Friday July 16th- Was another day of Laying out on the beach, Reading, and Napping. Followed by more beach Volleyball and Wiffle ball during the nighttime. I was on book number 2 by this point, and almost ready to start number 3. I had started the Private Series by Kate Brian which are hard to put down once you get started.
  • Saturday July 17th- Time to come home. Stayed up all night to see the sunrise. It was unbelievable. See for yourself.
